The second transnational meeting of the EIPIL-PAN project, in ClujOn March 16-17, 2009, IFES was the host of a second transnational meeting within the EIPIL –Pan, i.e. European Initiative for the Promotion of Informal Learning-“Pastures New” project. This is a European project which started in 2008 and is to last until 2010, being part of the Leonardo da Vinci – Transfer of Innovation program. The project promoter is the British organization MyKnowledge Map Ltd, IFES being one of the partners, next to other organizations from Bulgaria, Greece, and Poland.
The project aims at identifying ways of recognition, validation and accreditation of informal education at the workplace on the basis of a model of competences and the use of tools such as the European CV format and an e-portfolio.
At the Cluj meeting, organized by our institute, the participants tackled the following topics on the agenda: feedback to national consultations in the hospitality sector, IT services in Poland, the retail sector in the UK, the presentation of an assessment plan, progress evaluation within a competence framework for managers who support informal learning at the workplace, action plans for project development, strategy design for the project results’ dissemination, target groups identification, SMART action plan, etc. The next EIPIL working meeting will take place in July 2009, in Athens.
