The economic crisis discussed by EZA membersFrom 26th to 28th of March 2010, Berlin (Germany) hosted the international seminar concerning “The social dimensions of the financial, economic and employment crisis: what are the consequences and challenges for workers’ organisations?”
Some of the topics discussed during the seminar:
- The global financial crisis has exceeded the virtual level of financial markets and directly affects the economy;
- Trade unions and workers organizations are concerned about the crisis effects on the employees;
- The financial crisis and the economical crisis stimulate each other, and their effects are present in all worlds’ regions. This leads to a drastic correction of growth forecasts for the current year;
- Solving the economical crisis – and the political one – is an absolute priority of the whole world;
- The crisis can have seriuos effects without investing in education, infrastructure, health, environment, energy and ensuring the food supplies.
