CORE – Correlating labour market demands and workforce in the South-West Oltenia and North-West regionsOn the 9th of June 2010, in Slatina, the strategic project named “CORE – Correlating labour market demands and workforce in the South-West Oltenia and North-West regions” was launched. The project is financed by the European Union through the POSDRU/82/5.1/S/58992 programme.
The projects’ promoter is CCMP EUROPROJECT in partnership with S.C. Pirelli Tyres Romania S.R.L. (Slatina), S.C. Prysmian S.A. (Slatina), S.C. ALRO S.A. (Slatina), IFES (Cluj), APM (Cluj) and FLC (Milano – Italy).
The CORE project aims to improve the unemployed peoples’ skills and competencies in the two developmental regions, to facilitate access to employment and a sustainable integration on a flexible and inclusive labour market.
The targeted group is comprised of a minimum of 1638 unemployed from the South-West Oltenia and North-West regions, out of which: 163 women, 1310 unemployed youth and 163 long-term unemployed.
The project aims to respond to real reported needs in the two regions: combating unemployment, and developing, adjusting the skills and competencies of the unemployed, for them to be able to integrate and stay on the labour market. Those needs are correlated with the growth and diversification of the employment services deliverance opportunities at regional level, other than the existing ones, by creating two new employment centres. The 2 employment centres created and activated under the project will provide the following services for the targeted group: Job Club sites where the unemployed will receive information and counselling regarding the labour market, labour mediation, by linking the unemployed with employers; consultancy and assistance to start self-employment or a business, professional training, internships and specialization within different companies.
The project implementation will lead to the following results:
• Creation of two Employment Centres providing services to boost employment in the North-West and South-West Oltenia regions;
• Information and awareness raising campaign organised in both regions, to support the unemployed in their integration/reintegration in the labour market;
• A study report on the existing correlation between labour market demands and supply in the South-West Oltenia and North-West regions;
• The publication “Best practices and success stories in the employment and training sector”;
• 350 members of the targeted group informed and carrier counselled;
• 812 participants in professional training programmes, approved by CNFPA.
The implementation period of the project is 30 months.
