The partners in the Euroserv project (European Competencies for Food and Drink Service) held a second working meeting. It took place in Ripon, a small picturesque city in the UK, On February 23-24, 2009. Euroserv is part of the project "Working Together to Develop Competency Frameworks Partnership" within the Leonardo Partnership program. Working together in a pleasant environment, the transnational team defined the competency framework for waiters, wine waiters (sommelier), restaurant managers and some others, in order to harmonize the requirements and to propose common European standards in the field. The project also includes sessions of participative observation in different quality level restaurants from the partner countries, their aim being the comparison of serving requests and the elaboration of European standards. This means that the transnational team members are to combine work and pleasure.
